I was struggling to write this week’s feel-good post, which is interesting because I am, for once, actually feeling quite good. The rain has gone. Sunshine glitters on the Pacific. My sister visited last week for a grand adventure. I must be most obsessed with “feeling good” when I’m not already. Sometimes when the living is easy, the writing feels hard.
Freelance life comes with many perks. Forget the inconsistent wages and constant grind to find work. For I am sworn to no lord and can therefore do as I please.
With all this freelance freedom, I’ve attempted to live a dopamine-dumpy day according to science. I started my morning with a barre class which did, in fact, kick my ass. But I got it for free through a ClassPass trial so I got to pass on paying for the ass slaying. EXERCISE is good for our hormonal selves. We know this. We don’t always love this. After running in college, I took a long break from consistent exercise. It had been my life for so long, I was craving an off-season. Now, I’m ready to get back at it.
